RIKOLTO works for the development of sustainable food systems, focusing on strengthening the entrepreneurial capacities of producers, supporting value chain actors in improving the quality and packaging of agricultural products, improving processing and marketing processes, more sustainable food production, improving the environment of agricultural chains.
Rikolto in partnership with the Adikanfo Sustainability team is implementing Village Saving and Loans (VSLA) in some communities. A total of ten (10) groups have been established comprising two hundred and fifty-nine (259) members.
This project will raise revenue, enhance the saving habits of the underprivileged and marginalized, and improve farmers’ quality of life.
There are now six established income-generating activities (IGAs): composting, goat rearing, chicken raising, rabbit rearing, and pig rearing. This will contribute to diversification.
Rikolto supplied three thousand and fifty (350) multi-purpose shade trees to two hundred and fifty members during the 2022-2023 cocoa season to enhance agroforestry practices.
